Andreas Schober is a cardiologist and an internationally recognized expert in basic cardiovascular research. He is the acting head of department at the Institute for Molecular Cardiovascular Research at the RWTH Aachen University.

The Institute for Molecular Cardiovascular Research (or as a brief acronym IMCAR) has been established at the Medical Faculty of the RWTH Aachen University in April of 2006 and is dedicated to pursuing scientific excellence in the field of vascular biology and atherosclerosis research.
